The Salt Lake Valley has a new indoor climbing gym, and it’s the largest the Utah has ever seen. Momentum is opening the doors to the new Millcreek location on Tuesday, April 15th at 5 p.m. The gym owners say that Momentum Millcreek will be “the most comprehensive climbing gym in Utah.” Momentum Millcreek is located at 3173 E 3300 S in the same shopping center as REI and IME.
On April 14th, Momentum Millcreek had a soft opening with a members-only night where climbers could come and test out the new routes and bouldering areas before the gym opened to the public.
The rope-climbing area at the Millcreek location surpasses the 20,000 square feet of climbing wall at the old Sandy Momentum. The new gym features 50-foot, extremely overhanging rope-climbing walls (with routes over 70-feet long) and an 18-foot bouldering wall designed by some of the Salt Lake Valley’s most respected bouldering experts.
Momentum Millcreek boasts 23,000 Square feet of climbing terrain, an extensive training deck, 45 degree woody-adjustable systems wall, 30 foot Poutre, cardio and fitness equipment, locker rooms and showers, child care facilities, and a choice between day rates and memberships.
Membership holders at both the Millcreek and Sandy locations will be given access to both gyms at no extra cost.
