Mountain biking options around Park City are about to get even more diverse as a new network of mountain bike trails have been approved for the town of Kamas.
According to the Park Record, the new trail system will be built at the High Star Ranch. The Kamas City Council unanimously approved the trail’s master plan, which includes around 16 miles of singletrack.
Even though the trails will be on private property, the network will be open to the public at no cost. Plus, the trails will be financed and maintained by the property owners with the help of volunteer organizations, including the South Summit Trails Foundation, which is seeking to develop a non-motorized trail system throughout the Kamas Valley.
A professional trail-building company will sculpt the singletrack, and they expect construction to be compete at the end of summer. In addition to the trails, the plan calls for a South Summit Trails hub that will include public parking, bike shop and cafe.
The 16 miles of trail will be a mix of difficulty levels and will have over 3,000-feet of evlevation gain. The network will be built by a private trail building company and is expected to be complete toward the end of summer.
