We all know that Alta is for skiers, but did you know it’s for the birds as well? If not, then there is a wonderful opportunity to discover what flies in the sky above Little Cottonwood Canyon at their Skiing and Birds event on March 11, 2017.
You can “discover the birds” of Alta by skiing or snowshoeing if you join the Alta Environmental Center, Friends of Alta, and Tracy Aviary to help foster environmental stewardship and conservation while experiencing first-hand how citizen scientists observe and gather data. Guided intermediate-ski tours will be available, or you can visit spotting scope stops at your own pace when cruising down the mountain. For non-skiers, there will also be showshoe tours where you can visit bird feeders on and off the slopes.
