The 2018/19 Utah ski and snowboard season has officially begun! Brighton Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon was once again the first Utah ski area to open when they started up the lifts on Thursday, November 15th.
Recent snowfall combined with a ton of snowmaking allowed Brighton to open with a base averaging between 10-20 inches on 5 runs serviced by 2 lifts.
For opening day, Brighton Resort will offered “Top to Bottom” skiing & snowboarding from the Majestic and Explorer lifts. Although terrain was limited, there were a few runs open and groomed including Explorer, Hawkeye Access, Scout, Shoulder to Lower Majestic and Mary Back.
Until more of the resort opens, Brighton will offer a limited terrain ticket rate of $48 for ages 11 and up. Kids 10 and under ski free with a paying adult. In addition, they will limit the amount of tickets being sold to avoid over crowding the slopes.
Brighton will soon be joined by Brian Head, which opens on Friday, November 16th. Snowbasin and Park City are next in line opening on November 21st, and Alta opens on November 23rd.
If you’re an IKON Pass holder, you can start using your pass at Solitude (the only Utah resort that’s an IKON home mountain) on December 1st.
