Utah’s newest ski resort just opened to the public, and it’s unlike any ski and snowboard area the state has ever seen. Woodward Park City opened its doors on December 14th to much fanfare. Ski and board celebrities were on hand to test out the terrain features and hang out with young fans.
What is Woodward Park City?
Woodward Park City is described as a world-class, year-round action sports destination. Imagine a fully integrated adventure campus made up of a 66,000 square foot state-of-the-art action sports hub, and more than 60 acres of action sports and mountain parks that encourage intuitive growth and safe progression. Lift-accessed snowboarding and skiing will be available during the winter with mountain biking available during spring, summer and fall. Indoor and outdoor facilities for skateboarding, BMX, scooter, parkour and cheer are available year-round. Also, snow tubing returns at Gorgoza Park, which offers the longest tube runs in Utah.
When you step inside Woodward Park City, you may be intimidated. Huge jumps, ramps, and features dominate inside and out. It is here that you might find a future pro athlete practicing for the big time, or the world’s best training for their next competition.
But fear not. Woodward facilities are for everyone as they are all about progression. Folks can show up to receive instruction in 10 different sports and activities including snowboarding, skiing, tubing, mountain biking, skateboarding, BMX, scooter, parkour, cheer and digital media. So whether you’re a beginner or an expert, there is programming tailored for you. Or you can just freestyle and enjoy the amenities on your own.
Some of those amenities include:
A 66,000-square-foot indoor facility for play and over 30,000-square-feet of programmable activity space for classes or free use.
The Woodward Mountain Park promotes easy and forward-focused skill development within the Start Park and Progression Parks zones, a creatively designed, unique, ever-evolving Peace Park, the hikeable jib features at Red’s Backyard, and freestyle terrain parks that progress from small to medium and large, including a 22-foot halfpipe.
Guests can choose their own pathway and set their own pace to build personal skills and adventure within every zone with the help of the digital media lab.
For those who just want to watch, Woodward also provides multiple seating/viewing areas. There is also a cafe and bar with a walk-up cafeteria on the third floor.
As conditions permit, Woodward Mountain Parks will be open every day throughout the winter season from 10am to 8pm. Monthly memberships are available now. To sign up or for more information, visit woodwardparkcity.com
