The Wasatch Ultimate Ridge Linkup (WURL) is an endurance test for Utah trail-runners. But that’s in the summer. In the winter, The WURL has never been done. The route is 58km of continuous ridgeline running/hiking/scrambling that forms a horseshoe around Little Cottonwood Canyon. Only the best athletes can complete the route in under 24 hours.
The WURL: 4 days, 3 nights, 58 km of Ski Touring in the Wasatch
In this featured video, Salt Lake City locals Mali Noyes and Lani Bruntz attempt to complete The WURL in the winter on skis. It’s a massive 4-day, 3-night undertaking complete with winter camping and making turns on big lines. I am so impressed by these women and their impressive accomplishment, and this film captures their trip beautifully.
