Everyone seems to be getting into the minimalist shoe craze these days, and Chaco will soon be among them, as they introduced their new NearGround Collection at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. The new line will offer a lighter weight, and less structured Chaco while still providing the comfort and support the company is known for.

The women’s Backshore and Keel shoes are good examples of the new NearGround line. The Backshore features a PU coated synthetic leather and breathable mesh upper with adjustable webbing to get the right fit. The Keel is a Mary Jane style shoe that looks very comfortable with webbing and a mesh upper.

More standard Chaco styles are in the NearGround Collection, like the men’s Mighty and Rex sandals plus women’s Fantasia. (Photo: Jared Hargrave – UtahOutside.com)

More from the NearGround Collection is the men’s open forefoot Mighty and the toe-looped Rex sandals. These more typical-looking Chacos have the more minimalist soles to make them more sleek and lighter weight. For women, there is the Fantasia (pictured), Chari and Sleet.

Chaco also has the new Chill collection for those after-adventure relaxation times.  For women, there’s a ton of stylish options, like the Karst, Dawkins, Stowe, and Junction.

For men, Chill styles are all about flip flops, though there are four choices including the Cardwell, Fontas, Kolb and Yeats. All feature Nubuck leather uppers, soft lined footbeds, and a variety of webbing and printed canvas accents.

All of these new styles and more will be available come Spring 2013. With all these options, there’s no excuse not to pick up a pair that works for you so you can show the world your Chaco Luv!
