I am a coffee addict. I simply cannot start my day without that caffeine fix, especially if I’ve woken up early for outdoor adventures. But sometimes that means I get a pre-dawn start and would rather sleep in a little bit longer than get up even earlier to brew a pot of java. Enter High Brew coffee drinks.
These little cans of morning wake-up juice are the real deal. I hate soda and energy drinks, but they are damn convenient – just grab a can from the fridge and go. But now I can do just that and still drink all-natural, 100% coffee.
High Brew coffee is cold-brewed using premium beans prepared with a medium roast. They are then mixed with cane sugar, Stevia and a bit of milk. Now I prefer my coffee black, but I’ll make an exception for these add-ons if I’m in a rush out the door.
I first tried High Brew at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. They had reps walking the show floor, slinging cans at anyone who looked like they needed a pick-me-up… I drank three. Duly impressed, I sought them out at my local grocer and now keep two or three in the refrigerator at all times.
I drink High Brew while driving to the desert for weekend mountain biking at 5 a.m. I drink it for an afternoon jolt after coming home exhausted post-trail running. And I’ve even been known to throw some in the cooler or backpack just to have along.
High Brew comes in five flavors: Double Espresso, Mexican Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate Mocha, and Black & Bold. So far I’ve only tried the Double Espresso and Black & Bold, and enjoy both of them. But the latter is my favorite since it leaves out the dairy.
So if you’re a coffee addict like me, and sometimes don’t have time to brew (and drink) a whole pot of coffee as you make your way out the door to meet friends at the trailhead, then buy yourself some High Brew. It’s good stuff.
