Eagles Nest Outfitters is a company out of Asheville, North Carolina that creates cool stuff to make life easier while camping or backpacking. Relaxation gear such as hammocks, tarps, bug nets, padded guitar cases and even speakers are part of the ENO family, and each piece speaks volumes about the company’s chill vibe. Eagles Nest Outfitters showed off some of their new inventions at the Outdoor Retailer 2011 Winter Market, like the Ember Underquilt.
The Ember Underquilt is a synthetic insulated liner that makes winter camping (in a hammock) possible. The Ember surrounds the sides and bottom of any Eagles Nest hammock and protects from cold and wind. A shock cord around the Ember can be drawn closed for really bad weather nights.
Next up is The Talon:
The ENO Talon is such a simple thing that can be a huge convenience in any campsite. Basically, the Talon is like a clothes line that is super adjustable on-the-fly. It’s much lighter than rope, comes with an overhead pocket organizer for camp sundries, and just about anything can hang from it for easy reach. Hang a tarp in a freak rainstorm, hang your camp speakers, or hang those soggy socks out to dry. The Talon stuffs into a small sack and only weighs 3 ounces.
The Hi-Fi speakers are light weight (8 ounces) and seem to be the perfect way to share music with friends in the woods. The speakers run on 2 AA batteries, are encased in a durable molding and are compatible with iPods and most other MP3 players.
Twilights are Eagles Nest Outfitters’ way of making their own stars if the real thing are hiding behind the clouds. A string of 23 bright LED lights can be hung from trees, your tent or your ENO hammock for a bit of brilliance where campfires are not allowed. Twilights run on 2 AA batteries and have a 300-hour continuous burn time.
