When the ski resorts shut down for the season and you want to keep making turns, the backcountry is your only option. Luckily, spring is one of the most fun and safest times to ski big peaks in Utah.
I was invited to sit down and talk about spring backcountry skiing on the Let’s Get Out podcast. Hosted by Donovan Lynch and Julia Reich, Let’s Get Out focuses on recreation in Utah and features outdoor personalities in conversations ranging from peak-bagging to skiing, mountain biking and more.
This spring skiing podcast kicks off the second season. Here’s the description from Let’s Get Out:
“Spring is officially upon us, and with that comes the joy of spring skiing and snowboarding! So to kick off season 2 of Let’s Get Out, we sit down with writer and outdoor enthusiast Jared Hargrave to talk about spring riding in Utah. Jared penned the guide book “Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Routs – Utah”, so he knows a thing or two about where to find epic spring riding all over the state. We’ll discuss where to go, what to bring, and, most importantly, why beer is such a crucial element to any spring outing. Sit back and enjoy!”
