It’s so hard to say goodbye… but the time has come to post the 2019 closing dates for Utah’s ski and snowboard resorts. After an insanely-good season of deep powder every month, it’s tough to think skiing will soon be over. But despite the huge snowpack currently in the mountains, staffing and Forest Service leases force most resorts to stop spinning lifts in April.
So here is the most current list of 2019 resort closing dates according to SkiUtah:
- Alta – Alta closes its 7 days/week operations after skiing on Sunday, April 21, 2019. Alta will reopen for a bonus weekend Friday-Sunday, April 26 – 28, 2019.
- Beaver Mountain – Beaver Mountain will close its 7 days/week operations after skiing on Sunday, March 31. Beaver will reopen April 4-7 for four bonus days.
- Brian Head – April 21, 2019
- Brighton – April 21, 2019
- Deer Valley Resort – April 7, 2019
- Eagle Point – March 31, 2019
- Nordic Valley – March 30, 2019
- Park City Mountain – April 7, 2019
- Powder Mountain – April 7, 2019
- Snowbasin – April 21, 2019
- Snowbird – TBD #LongestSeasonInUtah
- Solitude – April 14, 2019
- Sundance – April 7, 2019
Of course Snowbird is known for staying open very late, even until the 4th of July. I would guess, based on experience, that sometime in June is a safe bet.
