Headlamps have undergone a lot of improvements these days, so is it possible to revolutionize them any further? I didn’t think so until I caught wind of the new BioLite Headlamp. The company has launched a Kickstarter campaign to get the funds for mass production while also putting this headlamp into the hands of outdoor enthusiasts.
BioLite Headlamp
The name is simple – BioLite Headlamp. Looking at the thing, it’s more like a headband. But the front does contain a headlamp. They call it 3D SlimFit Construction. Rather than having, as BioLite calls it, a “doorknob sticking out of your forehead,” their version is a lighter, more modern design. It’s has a flush front that reduces bulk and has much better weight transfer around the head. No more adjusting the lamp every time it slips down your forehead. This is ideal for runners (or any activity really) as you won’t have headlamp bounce anymore.
Despite the sleek design, the headlamp still packs a bright punch with 330 lumens and four different settings: red, flood, spot, and strobe. The power pack is located on the back for weight distribution. It’s all connected through the band, which is also high tech. It’s made from a high-quality moisture-wicking band that keeps your forehead comfortable and dry during activity with easy-adjust clips for perfect sizing.
Other features include USB recharge, splash proof, lock mode, and brightness memory.
Kickstarter Campaign
The Kickstarter campaign has already exceeded the goal, but there are still rewards left if you donate. While the BioLite Headlamp doesn’t ship to retail stores until next spring, you can get yours just in time for the holidays. Plus, if you order now, they’ll throw in a light diffusing stuff sack that turns your headlamp into a hanging light.
Check it out and get yours here. And for more information, head over to BioLite’s website.
